The LiDE 500F combines breath-takingly slender design, outstanding functionality and an ultra-stylish finish. Drawing all the power it needs from a USB 2.0 Hi-Speed connection, the scanner's slim size and integrated stand allow you to operate your scanner in a variety of different ways - even upright. When the scanner is upright, a double hinge lid allows 'drop-in' scanning. With the stand folded away, open the lid completely out to scan oversize objects such as maps or posters. The lid also opens parallel to accept bulky items such as books.

Advantages: Good quality scanning, No need for external power supply. Disadvantages: Can be a little slower using high resolution settings.
...If you are looking for ease of use, then this is the one for you! One of the main advantages of this particular scanner is the slimmer design over others on the market. scan quality is outstanding and fairly quick. One of the other useful features is the software supplied by Cannon allowing you to do a variety of adjustments to your image BEFORE sending it to your PC. Another useful feature is the scanners ease of integration into everyday programmes such as e-mail. A major bonus of the cannon system over some of its rivals is that the system is entirely powered by the USB cable eliminating the need for extra power sockets. This unit is not the cheapest on the on the market or the dearest, but as a mid-range unit the LiDE25 offers excellent value for money in terms of price verses features and overall performance....

...If you need a Sleek, High Quality and Affordable scanner, Look no further. It is so simple, Put the document in, press scan, DONE!!! I paid £50 for my scanner, the image quality is spectacular. The Pros are; Easy to use, Affordable, small design and looks really nice. The Cons are; Hinges seem flimsy and once the scanner failed to load. Another Pro is that it is small and light, which means, that if the lid falls while you are loading documents, it wont break your fingers or cause permanent damage, unlike my last one. The package comes with power cable, software, User manual and Certain software discounts. If you are looking for a professional, but easy to use scanner, from a reputable company, You can not go wrong with the LiDE 90....
