    Advantages Advantages simple to use

    Disadvantages Disadvantages No Manual

We purchased this scanner October 2003 - it was my wedding anniversary present -can you believe it! - well i did want one - but i would have preferred some perfume and flowers! It cost £49.99 from PC World and was an absolute bargain - should have been somewhere in the region of £80-£90 from what i remember. Anyway this was the second scanner we had purchased - the first was from Toys R Us - yes you read right - and was an absolute nightmare to install - so many disks and instructions - and anyway we couldnt get it to work - so we returned it and purchased the CanoScan 3000F on the shop ... more

Advantages Advantages Flatbed performance fine for the money, supplied software useful

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Disappointing film performance

(As far as I am aware this product has now been superseded, but you may come across it for sale second-hand. ) The Canon 3000F is a USB flatbed scanner that also includes a facility for scanning film. I bought it to replace a loathesome Umax scanner that was nothing but trouble. By contrast, this Canon has given me no problems in the four years I've owned it. It includes a "cold cathode" light, which supposedly gives better colour than the LEDs used in some cheaper models. All I know is that it looks fine to me. When scanning printed material, the resolution is more than good enough for home ... more

    Advantages Advantages cheap

    Disadvantages Disadvantages slow, low quality

The cannon scanner is a thing to be wary about i bought one and do use them at college. QUALITY: Before i had this scanner i had a packardbell one or was it HP well one or the other the quality was amazing for the price. I decided this time iw ould buy a canon (shot myself in the foot here). This scanner as poor quality even on estting such as 300 DPI. The scans more or less have scan lines across them and scanning in black and white images can be a real pain, it doesnt seem to pick up the lines of the images. SPEED: Now i like to scan a image in under a minute (i like my things fast) however ... more

I bought this scanner five years ago. Right now this unit still work. I like this scanner because it can do so many job like scan, copy and fax something. if we want to copy something we just connect our computer with this unit and a printer. this unit is also cheap. we just only to get this unit by $50. this unit is also easy to install. just follow the manual instructions that include inside the Compact Disc we get when we buy it. For the speed of scan, in my opinion I think this unit do a good job because we just need about 30 seconds to get 1 scan document. I really suggest you to buy this ... more
