Well as you probably already know, Canon is a worldwide company and is great for it's cameras and camcorders in particular. I too like canon and also have a digital camera as i have previously reviewed before. They are a well trusted company and sell fantastic products to suit all of our needs and this camcorder does just that.
This is the CanonDC 100. It's picture quality is astounding when capturing those precious memories you'd like to keep and even when taking photographs with this. The lens has a massive 25x optical zoom lens, which really is incredible, Widescreen high resolution recording and 2.7-inch Widescreen LCD display panel. DVD is undeniably superior to the ageing VHS tape format in the world of home movies, but you might be surprised to learn that the same is not necessarily true in the land of the camcorder. Though DVD camcorders offer a far more convenient method of storing footage, the output still lacks the resolution and vibrancy of tape-based MiniDV camcorders.
We won't pull punches on this issue. It's important to realise that while there are many benefits to the new DVD format, you must be prepared to compromise when it comes to editing your footage. DVD camcorders like the DC10 record video to DVD in a linear, permanent fashion. Mainstream editing packages like Final Cut Pro, Premiere and iMovie will not work with the DC10, you have to use Canon's proprietary editing suite. Canons range of cameras is very impressive. Everyone can be accommodated for, there really is something for everyone.
Camera Itself
First off, the camera. The sensor on this model has a larger pixel count than many of its rivals and cheaper models in the range. The 15.1 megapixels on offer is more than enough for the market it is aimed at, these images will easily be blown up above A3 and still retain most of the detail. The new addition to this camera that sets it apart from the older models is the Full 1080p movies. Many photographers don?t like this new mode but if you don?t, then simply don?t use it. The widescreen-ready Canon DVD Camcorder DC201 benefits from a powerful optical zoom lens and DIGIC DV II, Canon's most powerful video image processor originally designed for High Definition (HD) recording. The camcorder offers additional digital stills functionality, recording to disc. This camcorder is optimized for high-resolution true widescreen recording.
