Having been a fan of the Canon Ixus range (and previously owned an Ixus v2 and Ixus 700) I was particularly impressed that Canon had finally put together a specification package in one camera which ticked all the boxes. The screen size and resolution is superb as is the face recognition focusing. The main problem I found with the Ixus 700 was the quality of low light (mainly outdoor evening) shots. This has been greatly improved with the introduction of ISO 1600 and image stabaliser which makes the previously problem shots an ease and a joy. My main gripe with the camera is one that is common on all Canon's that I know of - no battery life indicator. Surely this is not an impossible addition - other manufacturers manage it afterall. In general I have not been disappointed by any aspect of this camera since I bought it 3 months ago. Well recommended!
