Advantages: Small, easy to use Disadvantages: There is no warning about battery life
...my very own digital camera. Canon Ixus 50. Out of all the camera's I've had or used this has got to be my favourite! (My dad is jealous because my camera is smaller than his is and he wants to swap!) It is really easy to use and it is just a nice size to carry around. Weight 130g. Size (H)53, (W)86, (D)20.7mm. It is less than half the size of my dad's camera.
When my parents bought the camera (from Comet) it was on offer. It came with a case, an ... ...user guide, a leaflet about Canon Image Gateway (www.cig.canon-europe.com), a quick start guide, which includes lots of images, and finally the camera user guide. This is 193 pages long and explains how to operate the camera. It is very well detailed and has images, which show you which part of the camera it is talking about.
Charging the batteries - the batteries only take 1hour and a half each to charge. The light on the charger changes from orange ...

Advantages: Great View, Effect, Image Adjustement, Quality Disadvantages: Can be blurry, SOMETIMES
Well, I finally decided to purchase a digital camera, and didn't know where to start...
I eventually found myself searching Canan's product's and saw the new Digital IXUS advertised in a magazine with a good review.
The whole IXUS range had very good reviews, however i had to decide which one i could afford/need. I made my decision to get the 5 mega pixel - the IXUS 50.
I purchased this for a very reasonable price after searching through this ... ...for a holiday to South Africa, this involved taking pictures of wildlife and scenary, so it had to be at a good standard, and it is.
I will just get down to the features of the camera now...
--@@-- Image Quality --@@--
Genereally the image quality is suburb, especially when using a timer or with a steady hand. However, as you may have read elsewhere bluriness can happen if you leave out flash, on the other hand, if using with a steady hand, this ...

Canon Ixus Review ofCanon Digital IXUS 50by

Advantages: Compact, sleek, easy to use, excellent picture quality, good video quality Disadvantages: Buttons can be a little small, screen on rear could be larger
I bought this camera when it was new over 2 years ago now. I is still as reliable as when first bought. Picture quality is excellent and ease of use superb. This is one of the best digital compact cameras i have used an although was over £200 when new can be bought at a fraction of the cost now. Screen on rear is adequate size but the newer version (Ixus 60 and above) have all the same features but a larger screen. If you are looking for a camera ...

Canon IXUS 50 Review ofCanon Digital IXUS 50by

Advantages: Slim, small and sleak. Overall excellent picture quality. Disadvantages: Not many, except possibly 'whiting' of blue sky
Intially going for the cybershot series from Sony, this range for its sleak and compact beauty stood out a mile. Given its 5m pixel, I bought 1GB memory and to date it gives excellent results. Whether, it is optical zoom, or darker conditions the lens is brilliant reproducing excellent colours. However, be careful on distance and flash as here it may need a bit of practice. Also, settings for glorious sunny days need to be adjusted since you often ... ...of the lens. Nevetheless, numerous people within my circles have seen and used the camera and assessed results, and we agree that an excellent all round camera which looks good too! In order to save memory some lower pixel resolutions can be used, and I was suprised at the picture quality. ...

Manufacturer's product description
The exquisitely finished all-metal 5.0 Megapixel Digital IXUS 50 conceals precision optics and cutting edge image processing technology - so your shots are as irresistible as the camera taking them. Key to the cutting edge miniaturization of the Digital IXUS 50 is the ultra-high refractive index aspherical (UA) 3x optical zoom lens, which delivers outstanding optical performance and corner-to-corner clarity in an exceptionally compact form. It combines with the 5.0 Megapixel sensor to deliver superb images suited for photo quality prints to A3 size. Review and share images and movie clips on the large high-definition 2.0" LCD. Night Display mode automatically improves visibility when it is dark, while the user-controlled Quick-bright function lets you frame/review comfortably in low-light conditions. Record and playback extended 30 fps VGA movie clips with sound (up to 1GB files possible). Analyze fast action sequences by recording QVGA quality at 60 fps and watching in slow motion. Integrating a Canon DIGIC II processor, the Digital IXUS 50 has power to burn. DIGIC II links all key camera functions, driving fast auto-focus, outstanding camera performance, quick start-up times and first-class image quality. Like a hidden photographer's assistant, iSAPS uses DIGIC II's power to analyze the scene and optimize key camera settings even before the shutter release is pressed. 10 shooting modes including 6 scene modes combine with 9-point auto-focus system (AiAF) to deliver consistently brilliant results in every situation. Create exciting visual effects with My Colors by making favorite colors more vivid, swapping one color with another, or making all but one area of an image monochrome. Capture snorkeling, skiing and surfing action with the optional 3m depth All Weather Case, and extend lighting options with the optional High Power Flash. For full color prints within seconds, simply connect the camera to any PictBridge compatible photo printer and push the Print/Share button. It's that easy. With a Canon SELPHY CP series printer, you can even print handy ID photo prints and Movie prints.
