Determined everyone thinks in its life once over the acquisition (photo -) of a camera. So it was the same case with me some time ago. But which camera was to take was the main problem? There are so different companies, like Sony, Olympus, Canon, Nikon... But thus are not naturally yet enough: But everyone go for a number of megapixel, a memory card, a ' how muchfold zoom shot ' etc..
I my self search the amazon.com for cameras and found thereby a genuine top model: the Canon digitally IXUS 55. The first impression:

When I had finally the package in front of me, I was surprised first a little: I was getting so keen that i opened the package so fas. In the packing first the operating instructions were noticeable to me. And completely down the camera lies, packed up in a protective plastic film.
When I unpacked it, I noticed again, that the camera is silver in colour. i was so impressed by the beauty.
The package:

The Canon digitally IXUS 55 is delivered in a again-lockable cardboard box. In this package the following is contained:
- the Canon digitally IXUS 55
- the hand loop WS-600
- the battery charger CB-2LV/CB-2LVE
- a Akku NB-4L
- a SD memory card SDC-16M (16 MT memory)
- an interface cable IFC-400PCU
- a system configuration
- an operating instruction for the Canon digitally IXUS 55 into English, German,French and Italian
- CD Rome with a detailed operating instruction
- CD Rome with software for the Canon digitally IXUS 55
- and a brochure ' recommendations regarding the use of original accessories of Canon '
Each individual thing is properly packed The Canon digitally IXUS 55:

The Canon digitally IXUS 55 has a dissolution of 5.0 megapixels and with a size of straight 8,6 cm broad, 2,2 cm depth and 5,4 cm height.
The TFT display is larger with 2,5 tariff, as the display of others, many larger cameras.
The camera is very easy to serve, there are small, three speed switch directly beside the display. With this one can select between three differently modes:
Photos Modes:
One can select oneself in this mode the size of the made pictures. To the selection 2592 x stand 1944 (L), 2048 x 1536 (M1), 1600 x 1200(M2) and 640 x 480 (S). All data in pixels. There is still another flashlight and a light for the decrease of ' red eyes '.
Now one can select oneself still another photograph mode:
- mechanism mode: The attitudes for the admission are met automatically by the camera
- manual mode: Here one can make the attitudes for the admission
- digitally macro: Makes possible an admission with a motive between 3 and 10 cm
- haven-guesses/advises: Ideally to taking up persons
- night snapshot: Prevents blurring and gives the admission with helps from art light original-faithfully again
- children & animals: Hereby one can photograph oneself fast moving motives
- interior admission: As in the case for ' night snapshot ' blurring prevented and the picture becomes artificially illuminates
- other photograph modes: There are still modes for leaves, Snow, Beach, Fireworks and underwater photographs
The pictures are stored in the JPEG format. Films:
When filming one can on a few effects like strong colors, small sharpness, Sepia or blackWhite fall back.
To films goes to me a dissolution of 640 x to 480 or 320 x of 240 pixels at a photograph speed of max. 60 pictures per second. In the case of a dissolution of 640 x of 480 pixels only one photograph speed of 15 or 30 pictures per second goes.
Photos and videos regard:
In all three modes there is a zoom function. The Canon digitally IXUS 55 supports a 3x optical and 4x digital zoom shot. Software:

Using camerca with computer, one must install the enclosed software.The softwares works on Windows 98SE/Me/2000 SP4/XP the following program contain: Canon utilities, ToomBrowser ex 5,5, Photo record 2,2, PhotoStitch 3,1, TWAIN Driver 6,6, WIA Driver 6,4, Acre often photo studio 5,5 and Apple QuickTime
For Mac OS X gibt's only Canon utilities, ImageBrowser 5,5, PhotoStitch 3,1 and acre often photo studio 4.3.
Around itself the picturesTo regard films at the computer, one connects the Canon digitally IXUS 55 with that to which is attached USB cable at the computer. Now one changes with the camera on the ' photos and videos regards ' mode. The computer already recognizes the camera. Now one must press a blue shining button only on the camera and become already the pictures automatically on the computer downloaded and in a file with the name of the date, at which the photos were made, in the own files stored. Downloading the pictures goes thereby very fast.

===== I cannot write all the functions of the Canon digitally IXUS 55, but few are : Beside photos and videos one can make also pure clay/tone photographs and also play these. According to my opinion is the clay/tone, from the camera comes, small little too quietly.
In the package still another cable is attached, with which one the Canon digitally IXUS 55 connect with the television. Thus the television becomes the display of the camera. This can be useful. My experiences:

The smallness of the camera disburses itself fast: It fits it almost any trouser pocket.well my experience has been great so far.i really like the smallness and the beauty of this camera.

The Canon digitally IXUS 55 is a genuine purchase recommendation. one gets high-quality 5 megapixels camera with 3x optical zoom shot, Photograph function, Software...
The image quality approximates the one mirror reflex camera already quite, only with photographs in the dark one I noticed, that I with a super+small, not mirror reflex camera photographs, since the picture rushes little.
Normally i change my cameras very soon but after using this one i'll prefer to stick with this one.

Found the English very confusing making it difficult to read. Also, there was too much on the specifications of the camera, these can be found in general circulation. Chris.
