And for all the people who would rather use the camera rather than eat the manual:
A fantastic digital camera that despite all its advanced features is a joy to use. If like me you just want to take great photo's without being a budding David Bailey, then the IXUS 75 should be towards the top of your short list. The photo quality is superbly crisp and clear. The LCD display is easily visible even when using outdoors. This I found to be of great use compared to my old HP camera, as the display used to become un-viewable when using outside. The zoom on the camera is again very good, and still manages to retain the same sharpness of picture clarity when used to its maximum extent. Another clever little feature is the auto face focusing. The camera has the ability to automatically detect faces and adjust the focus, and all other settings to give the best possible results. Again for people like myself who want a simple "point and shoot" device, Canon have introduced a clever dial control. This little feature allows you to instantly access all the most useful features of the camera, without having to navigate your way through 50 million menu options. I will admit that I have yet to use the majority of the main advanced features of the camera. The idea of this review is to primarily convey how easy it is to use for even the hardest of "techno -phobics". Having said that, all the gizmo's and flashing lights are there for those who want to use them. There are only two criticisms I have of this camera. 1st is that it does seem to be a little heavy on battery usage, but then in does do a lot of work for you in terms of making sure you get the best quality shot. A good piece of advice would be to make sure you carry a spare battery supply. 2nd is that in general, the flash is more than adequate, but I have found that in particularly dark settings, the flash does not seem quite powerful enough and tends to leave dark shadows around the edges of the picture. Summary: WELL WORTH THE MONEY.....BUY ONE!
