The good thing about this camera is that its reliable, and that's what we all want in a compact. It's a typical point and shoot cameras, don't expect the manual ability of an SLR, but do expect a brilliant picture every time. The picture quality of this camera comes from the Canon Genuine Lens; the lens is made of glass, unlike some of the cheaper cameras, and therefore allows the light to hit the sensor more evenly giving a better picture. Some of the cheaper cameras have plastic or poly-carbonate lens', causing the light to bend before it hits the sensor, causing poor or wavy pictures. Also, the DIGIC III processor allows the camera a better battery life, and a much quicker speed than its competitors; think of the DIGIC as the quad-core of the camera world.
The design is great, easy to use and it looks good, also comes in several colours (silver, chocolate, candy etc) and also fits great into a handbag or pocket. Being a Canon its durable, don't expect it to survive a long drop, but if it falls out your pocket it should be fine! A great little feature is that you can print directly from the camera if you have the correct photo printer, so you can print your photos on the move!
In conclusion, this camera is great for point and shoot, it allows you to take great photos with some of the best face detection, and compressed video, on the compact market. Furthermore, all the components are made my canon, so it all fits together perfectly! I would recommend this camera over the Lumix series, even though Panasonic have more features; I feel Canon has a better quality for its price, furthermore, the software is great and allows you to access and sort out all your photos. This Ixus is a great midrange camera, and is still going strong! Thanks for reading, hope this rant helps!

The Lxus 80 comes in Classic Silver, Caramel, Chocolate and Candy Pink in an aluminium body. It is small enough to fit in a pocket and can be tacken anywhere with no problems. As far as I can say it is very reliable and does brilliant pictures for a normal user. Features

As far as I know this is not standard on all cameras yet, but becomes more normal in newer models. The lens is glass, so it’s definitely an advantage towards cameras with a plastic lens. ...assistant came up with the Canon IXUS. What he showed me I still remember: Switch on - point - click. To view what you have just taken press this button. Zoom in & out ( wow ! ! ! ) . I am old, these buttons are easy to use with my fingers, the picture is clear and can be seen (more than I can say for my colleagues & friends cameras); and it is so easy to set up. Finally - the manual is also easy to follow - there is none of the "press these buttons" ... ...be shown how to change the batteries - which I was able to do; and I was advised to get a 2 gb card for the back, which I did. Good advice as it happens, as I took nearly 800 photos (36 rolls of film) before my daughter down loaded to the computer. I never will be a good photographer, but at least I don't waste a lot of money getting pictures printed any more - and there is soft ware I can use to make my pictures better. (No - sorry - not an option; ...

Canon has a reputation for making quality cameras. This model stays close to that tradition. Despite being relatively inexpensive, the overall picture quality and technical features are of a high standard. With lots of useful functions such as on display picture editing and image manipulation; you could almost do away with photoshop. As the camera often uses flash in low level lighting, red eyes can be problem. Yet, with the camera's red eye removal ... ...quickly detect the eye area and then accurately removes the red glare. Due to the camera's face detection ability, it's focus also is extremely accurate. You are also pretty much guaranteed high detailed photos as it is a 8 mega pixel camera . I would recommend this camera to any budding photographer or to anyone who just wants an easy to use, good quality camera. ...
