Since damage on my digital camera Canon PowerShot A300 about two years ago, I no longer own a digital camera. I wanted to repair it but very costly which about one and a half million rupiah (US$136). I suspected that it failure on CCD. I was thinking that with the cost of repair actually I can buy a new digital camera with a bit of top up.
I even decided to buy a mobile phone that has a camera feature and even handycam which have a feature to capture a still image or a photo.
But the quality of images produced by these two gadgets is disappointing me. I realize that the hand phone with camera on any matter is only "sweetener".
Finally I bought a digital camera and a choice of falling back to the Canon brand. I take a moment FKI (Festival Komputer Indonesia) to pursue a new digital camera and finally fall on the choice of Digital IXUS 80 IS. From several color choices available, I choose the color of light blue.
Just use only a few times, I have very, very happy with the ability of this camera. Image quality is good and abundant features. Some features available are:

Image capture modes that are available include:

Seeing the previous experience, I do not want a digital camera is broken quickly. Therefore, I would tend to more often use the camera and move the image data via card reader, not with the data cable provided by Canon.
I always take it wherever I go and almost never leave it behind. For pictures, I do not doubt in term of quality. However, I ever had experienced on the broken images in the camera. Then I went to the dealer, there was a problem with memory card. On the whole I satisfied the Digital IXUS 80 IS, the last for me when our company taking the photo last week.
Advantages: Canon lens, DIGIC processor, good reliability! Disadvantages: Some of its competitors offer cheaper cameras in this range.

The good thing about this camera is that its reliable, and that's what we all want in a compact. It's a typical point and shoot cameras, don't expect the manual ability of an SLR, but do expect a brilliant picture every time. The picture quality of this ... ...handbag or pocket. Being a Canon its durable, don't expect it to survive a long drop, but if it falls out your pocket it should be fine! A great little feature is that you can print directly from the camera if you have the correct photo printer, so you can print your photos on the move! ...assistant came up with the Canon IXUS. What he showed me I still remember: Switch on - point - click. To view what you have just taken press this button. Zoom in & out ( wow ! ! ! ) . I am old, these buttons are easy to use with my fingers, the picture is clear and can be seen (more than I can say for my colleagues & friends cameras); and it is so easy to set up. Finally - the manual is also easy to follow - there is none of the "press these buttons" ... ...be shown how to change the batteries - which I was able to do; and I was advised to get a 2 gb card for the back, which I did. Good advice as it happens, as I took nearly 800 photos (36 rolls of film) before my daughter down loaded to the computer. I never will be a good photographer, but at least I don't waste a lot of money getting pictures printed any more - and there is soft ware I can use to make my pictures better. Canon has a reputation for making quality cameras. This model stays close to that tradition. Despite being relatively inexpensive, the overall picture quality and technical features are of a high standard. With lots of useful functions such as on display picture editing and image manipulation; you could almost do away with photoshop. As the camera often uses flash in low level lighting, red eyes can be problem. Yet, with the camera's red eye removal ... ...quickly detect the eye area and then accurately removes the red glare. Due to the camera's face detection ability, it's focus also is extremely accurate. You are also pretty much guaranteed high detailed photos as it is a 8 mega pixel camera .
