I am not an expert on digital cameras and this is just the second one I bought. So I cannot really compare the Ixus 80 with other cameras. Nevertheless, I really like it. Looks The Lxus 80 comes in Classic Silver, Caramel, Chocolate and Candy Pink in an aluminium body. It is small enough to fit in a pocket and can be tacken anywhere with no problems. As far as I can say it is very reliable and does brilliant pictures for a normal user. Features It works with 8 megapixels .The 3x zoom works for all the general snapshot moments. It comes with an Image Stabilization (IS moniker) to reduce camera shake. As far as I know this is not standard on all cameras yet, but becomes more normal in newer models. The lens is glass, so it’s definitely an advantage towards cameras with a plastic lens. You can certainly see that in the quality of the pictures. The pixel count is 8 million pixels. Means it is at the end of the current list of IXUS’ when it comes to resolution. Processing is done by Canon's DIGIC III processor. JPEGs are done at approximately 2-5 MB closed and 22.9 MB open. The maximum speed is 1.3 frames per second. The IXUS 80 comes with an optical viewfinder, which offers a real image zoom view. The 2.5 inch LCD screen is just perfect for any arm-length shoots. Furthermore you get Face Detection Technology Red-Eye Correction,18 Shooting Modes, Creative movie options Battery The battery is very reliable. It did not cause me any problems. Overall this is a nice little camera for the right price. It does last a while, looks nice and has everything you need as a hobby photograper.
