I used this camera for taking pictures for work purposes. Its small and sleek which i loved. Pictures were taken and saved instantly, no little wait periods for picture saving. Its user friendly as well, not being a camera buff this came in real handy. The red eye reduction and image stablization is great, especially for taking moving pictures such as cars, non of that blur that destroys pictures. I loved the different picture taking options that were available, although i would rarely use them. The only problem i had was regarding transfer of pictures, sometimes when i connected the camera to the PC or the laptop, a message would come up stating unrecognized drive, therefore i wouldnt be able to transfer the pictures, it look a couple of goes of reinserting the camera for that to be fixed.
Advantages: Small, great screen! Disadvantages: Flash is a little slow
Having been a photography degree student, I have my fair share of film and digital based cameras, but I wanted something to track my son growing up, and something that would fit into my handbag. Along came my canon, which is light, small but with a nice size screen. Personally i find it very easy to use, and the different profile settings do a brilliant job. It produces very sharp images in compassion to some digital cameras around the same price ... ...a little slow, but other than that i cant find no fault in it. The battery life seems to be excellent. I have to also mention the macro setting on it, for a small camera this is amazing, I thought it would awful to be honest, but actually its very good! As a little camera to have for everyday shots, i highly recommend this one. it has everything i need on it and also more. it produces lovely sharp images with great colours and worthy enough images ...

This is a great little camera which i recieved as a christmas present from my husband. I love the fact the lense automatically retracts back into the body of the camera. The automatic programme is so easy to use - just point as press, perfect first digital camera so easy to use with easy plain english instruction, great to just pop into you handbag!! The Canon Digital IXUS 85 IS is a phenominal camera, its zoom goes uo to 4x. It is also made from a light weight casing, making the whole camera weigh 130grams. This camera is amazing for capturing the most important moments in life, its has 10 mega pixels alowing it to take crips pictures of life time moments. Having a flash drive proves very useful as pictures can be transferred to your computer and viewed. Havingbought it at £220it was a bargain ...

This is a real high quality digital camera.With its curved square and bold lens ring details, the Digital IXUS 85 IS is a flawless example of traditional IXUS style. 10.0 Megapixels and a 3x optical Image.You will feel comfortable as it weighs just 130 g.Just a demerit as its flash is slow but its large screen dominates over its demerit. I really recommend this one & Make sure you buy it as you will be spellbound to its picture quality and features.
