This is now the second Canon IXUSdigital camera I have now owned, and I cannot recommend this range of cameras enough! The first one was the 4.0megapixel IXUS purchased 3 and half years ago, and I have never had any reliability problems with it. I expect this model to be no different.
In keeping with the character of the IXUS range, the IXUS 900 TI is a great all round camera. It offers up to date and powerful zoom and picture quality features, and has all the other standard settings you would expect of a digital camera. I must admit that I am not the greatest photographer around, and one of the qualities of the Canon is that I almost feel the camera does much of the work for me in turning out great photos!
If you are an experienced and dedicated photographer who requires very high specs and certain features, you would/should not be looking at this camera. This is for the other 90% of people who are looking for that combination of power/range of features/reliability/small size/aesthetics/value for money. In my opinion, choosing a Canon is a better decision due to their quality and expertise in cameras, than another brand like Casio, or Sony for example, who weren't traditional camera makers.
The other great feature of this camera is its ease of use and menu system. Much like the Nokia mobile phone, I would say that one of Canon's strengths is the user-friendliness of the buttons/controls, and menu systems. You can literally take the camera out of its box and start using straight away without needing to learn much from the manual...something that I'm sure many us are grateful for!
