Canon Digital IXUS 90 IS

I've had a couple of months using this camera, and have been fairly impressed, though have also found a couple of small niggles. My previous camera was the Canon Ixus 75 - I was lucky enough to win this one which is why I've upgraded. As such, I wil make some of this review a comparison of the two cameras. The Ixus 90 IS is a 10 MP camera, with image stabilisation as implied by the name. In size and weight it's fairly similar to previous models. After my previous camera was stolen this camera was the replacement I had to get after claiming on my insurance. At first I was quite reluctant about getting a new camera as I had grown so fond of the previous Canon model I owned. Canons iconic box & circle design has literally been given the chop - the top and bottom corners of the meaty, metal IXUS 90 have been beveled for a now, not then, feel. Beneath the classy surface lurks some serious tech too. The 10 megapixel photos have beautifully crisp detail and vibrant yet realistic colours, the image stabilizer is excellent and the screen is a superb 3-incher. Red-Eye Correction quickly and easily removes red-eye in camera. It can be set to remove red-eye automatically as you shoot. This is a great little digital camera, bursting with features and capable of producing some really nice images. It has a 10 mega pixel sensor, 3x optical zoom, and possibly its most stylish feature, a huge 3 inch screen covering most of the back of the unit! One of the downsides of having this huge screen means that Canon have had to miss out on other features, in this case the eyepiece. So you cant actually look down the lens with your own two eyes, but you do get a nice, bright and large live view on the screen, which is quite easy to view in daylight.
