This is the exact camera that i am the proud owner of.
If anyone is thinking of buying a camera then this is the one.
I have never owned my own digital camera before and thought that if i wanted one that had a decent resolution and great features, then i would have to fork out a load of money. But as i walked through the door of my local jessops, i was greeted with a smile and was asked if i was looking for anything inpaticular. I said to the assistant that i needed a camera with a long exposure length specifically for an art project that i was working on. He didnt even spend time showing me any of the digital SLR's that were worth well over £1000, he took me straight to the IXUS I7 i fell in love with it the moment i saw it. He exclaimed to me that everyone else that worked in jessops owned there own I7. He then showed me photos that had been taken by people there. and to be honest with you they were of amazing quality. I pulled out my bank card and bought it right there and then.
I have had my IXUS now for about 3 months. and i couldnt ask for anything more if i want to take picture at night i can. If i want to take pictures of people i can. If i want to take pictures of the light trails of cars i can.
It has been a great help to me and has travelled numorous places with me and very rarely leaves my side. I literally take it everywhere. If anyone else buys this camera then they will find it the same.
Its so small that you can carry it around in a pocket without worrying that its there.
It has such a long battery life. and is capable of taking a multitude of different photographs.
So if your looking for a camera with decent specs that wont pull on the purse strings too much then this is the camera for you. Go on! Go and buy one you wont be sorry.
I read through some of the comments left to me and realised i had missed out some info!
The camera cost me £159.00 from jessops because the sales assistant did me a deal, where i payed the price of £218.50 but this included a 1GB scan diskmemory card (£30.00) and an extra 2 year warrenty on top of the 1 year manufacturers warrenty against everything but theft and fire basically.
The camera has a mode where you can have everything automatic so it responds to its surroundings to give you clear amazing pictures. Or you can set it to manual where you have an array of manual features to use. These include exposure lengths, Night settings, adjusting colours eg. adding and removing or changing hue saturation, size and image quality. I am not a camera whizz so i cannot really comment on most of the technical features but i can compare it to digital camera's i have owned or used before and without a shadow of a doubt this is the best little camera i have ever used.
I would recommend buying a case and if you want really clear pictures i would reccomend getting a tripod especially if you are thinking of taking night shots.
