ProTypically good Canon images.

ConsPoor flash and feels a bit flimsy.

Canon along with Nikon have for years been known as the kings of camera`s but with things changing rapidly in the DSLR market Canon had to think fast. All of Canons recent releases have been at the expensive end of the market and they have been rapidly losing ground to the likes of Nikon and the...

The canon eos 1000d - I know what your're thinking. Its a beginners camera. Its cheap (well, as cheap as an SLR can be) and doesn't pack the punch of some of the models higher up in the food chain like the 600D. But that doesn't mean it isn't a great beginners camera, and a fantastic value piece...

Cannon's new digital SLR camera is so simple- a chimp could us it! This is due to the EOS 1000D uses tha same digital image processor as Cannon's top of the range units worth up to 6 times more the £579.99 RRP of the entry level snaper with 18-55mm lens... But you can actually find it online for...

Hi, I´m an enthusiastic photographer who is currently studying to become proffessional. I can personally say that the canon eos 1000d is one of the best cameras on the market for what it´s worth. It´s a great all-round camera that can be used by an amateur who´s never touched a camera, simply by...

First off I am a keen photographer and this is my second SLR camera, the first being the Olympus E-410. Ease of Use : This camera has to be one of the easiest to use in the world, the menus are easy to understand and the buttons are clearly labeled, after using I feel that it is defiantly a...

I think this camera is actually amazing. I'm really weak and found SLRs really annoying to use because my arms just ached after a while, but this camera is light weight and works just as well as any of the really heavy ones! Its also a reasonable size so no more having to take a HUGE camera...

First impressions of the Canon EOS 1000D were great. Looks and features of a top of the range camera, and incredibly easy to use. There are a variety of different settings, ranging from fully auto, to manual mode where your creative side is let free. I am a novice photogtapher, and i find the...

The Canon EOS 1000D is an excellent entry level camera. I bought it in September 2008 for £384 with the 18-55mm lens and a £50 cashback from Canon themselves. The picture quality is excellent with a basic range of settings that are excellent for beginners to learn the ropes of photography. The...

ConsSlightly noisy images over 400 ISO

I was hesitant to purchase this over a Nikon, coming from a family of Nikon users. The Nikon D40 is certainly a worth nemesis, but the Canon has the overall edge. The selection of lenses on offer are far greater than the D40 for a start. Also far more third party companies make lenses for Canon...

This Camera is quite frankly fantastic for the price of it. At £300 it is definately at the low end of the SLR range but by no means does that reflect in the photos. I bought the Canon EOS 1000D almost two years ago, and I love it. Well, I loved it until recently. Nothing has gone wrong with the camera, but I have started wanted more professional looking shots, and in my opinion the Canon EOS 1000D is giving 'good' shots. Nothing better than good. For an...

Product Information : Canon EOS 1000D

Manufacturer's product description

With a 10.1 Megapixel CMOS sensor and technology inherited from Canon's professional models, the EOS 1000D offers EOS imaging power in an affordable, easy-to-use package. For dramatic mid-action shots, the EOS 1000D allows continuous shooting of large JPEG images at speeds of up to 3 frames per second, until the memory card is full. With a card, this lets you shoot up to 514 images without a pause. A wide-area Auto Focus system uses 7 separate focusing points to lock onto subjects fast. The central focus point enables focusing even under low-light or low-contrast conditions. Canon's built-in dust prevention system guards images against the effects of dust in three ways: reducing dust generated inside the camera, shaking dust from the sensor each time the camera is turned on or off, and mapping stubborn dust spots for removal with the provided Digital Photo Professional software.
