First impressions of the Canon EOS 1000D were great. Looks and features of a top of the range camera, and incredibly easy to use. There are a variety of different settings, ranging from fully auto, to manual mode where your creative side is let free. I am a novice photogtapher, and i find the 1000D incredibly easy to use. Set the camera on full auto and it becomes a point and click camera like and digi cam on the market, except the picture quality is alot better. There is even an option to use the large LCD screen as a preview screen like on digi cams. Personally i dont use the camera in this way, im teaching myself how to use manual modes, which isnt as hard as it seems as the layout of the camera is easy to use, and easy to get used to. Overall, this is a perfect camera for beginners, and amateurs, but still holds its own as a camera for more advanced users.

Advantages: Very easy to use and learn about and not as expenssive as other DSLR Disadvantages: At the moment I honeslty see no disadvantages to this product.
