designed to attach to your camera using the existing eye piece and slots around the display. It easily snaps on and off, and features an optically clear plastic to protect your camera's screen. The simple pop-up design allows for easy opening to block the glare. Buttons on the Professional shades are aligned with your camera to reduce the wear and tear on delicate parts and components. The three sided shade can be removed from it's Snap-On base, allowing you to use the screen and button protector without the shade if required.

Since Canon first introduced the EOS 1D I have been waiting expectantly for a mature and professional version of the camera to be launched. This finally is a product to be proud of. It delivers speed and quality that the professional camera man will really appreciate. From a technology point of view there are no features that I am aware of that it does not support. The list is too long to mention here. This is one exceptional piece of camera gear. Canon have come a long way in the digital world sincetheir first IXUS was launched in 1998. As for this product the only feature missing is to make it more robust and able to handle extreme weather conditions. But for now its the best camera that I have had the pleasure of using. The only small grudge is the price but then I guess what would I expect to pay for something as amazing as this. My advice , Go for it.
Advantages: In my view the main advantage is this product capture 5 pictures per second. Disadvantages: But the pictures can't write to memory cards that fast
...In my view CanonEOS1Ds Mark III is the best Canon product, i ever had. The CanonEOS1Ds Mark III has never create any question in any mind that CanonEOS1Ds Mark III produces the best quality images in the market. The CanonEOS1Ds Mark III has on almost instantly and it's very responsive as well, with this cheaper Canon bodies it's not tangling with 25 MB raw images.
The best thing in my view of this camera is the CanonEOS1Ds Mark III can capture 5 PICTURES per second, with superb quality. Isn't it good.
The thing i fall down how fast it capture the pictures but CanonEOS1Ds Mark III can't write them to memory cards that fast.
After all this CanonEOS1Ds Mark III is very easy to operate. The menus are deeper. There are more button in CanonEOS1Ds Mark III.
The CanonEOS1Ds Mark III camera includes a fast processor...

Advantages: Full Frame sensor, (Practically) Indestructable, Weatherproof, Clean Images Disadvantages: Expensive, Heavy, Now superceded
...The 1Ds is built to take the worst a professional photographer can throw at it and more, and still keep on going. Physically the camera weighs around 1.5kg without a lens, being made out of magnesium alloy and steel, thats understandable, and like canons other EOS1 series the camera is heavily waterproofed, speaking to a photographer once who once, accidently of course, dropped his 1Ds into a river, retrieved it immediatly he found his lens damaged, but the camera shrugged it off, no marks or water damage. But what really makes people excited about this camera is it's CMOS sensor, using less power than a CCD, battery life is excellent, around 600-700 images. At just over 11 Megapixels the camera's resolution is among the highest on the market, almost 4 times the resolution of Nikons D1. The physical size of the sensor is the same as...

Advantages: 16.7 mega pixel, 36 x 24mm (35mm film full frame) Disadvantages: Very Expensive
...This camera out ways them all, with an impressive 16.7megapixels it out ways any SLR on the market. The camera offers a huge amount
17.2-megapixel, high-sensitivity, large single-plate CMOS sensor (16.7 million effective pixels) delivering image resolutions as high as 4,992 x 3,328 pixels.
Improved shutter durability, rated at 200,000 shutter cycles in the EOS-1Ds Mark II.
2.0-inch LCD monitor for image playback and review.
RAW and JPEG image file formats
plus much much more.
Lets not mastaken that this camera is for the rich/proffesional hobist, who knows how to take a quality picture. Its easy to use but can get harder when you place a large lense on. The picture quality is superb with 16.7 megapixels the pictures you produce are brilliant. The battery lasts for about 3hrs but you will need an extra one if you are...

Manufacturer's product description
The EOS-1D and EOS-1Ds are based on the same digital camera body, and share many features and a similar operation. However, the 4.15 megapixel sensor and 8fps shooting of the EOS-1D makes it ideal for news and sports photographers, while the 11.1 megapixel sensor and 3fps shooting of the EOS-1Ds will appeal a very broad spectrum of professionals, including advertising and fashion photographers. The camera incorporates a full-frame CMOS sensor developed and manufactured by Canon. With a size of 24 x 36mm, it covers the same area as a film frame. This makes maximum use of the standard angle-of-view of EF lenses, especially the wide-angle series. The RAW recording file produces an image file size of 11.4MB, yet despite this size, the 3fps shooting rate can be maintained for up to 10 shots in a single burst. The camera will also generate RAW and JPEG files at the same time, if required, without any discernible loss of speed or burst length. The EOS-1Ds supports CompactFlash Type I and Type II storage cards and Microdrives. Previous cameras only recognize 2GB of storage (FAT 16 format), even if the card or drive offers more. The camera uses both the FAT 16 and FAT 32 formats, recognizing storage up to 2048GB - if and when this becomes available. The sensitivity of the sensor can be set to the equivalent of ISO speeds between 100 and 1250 (and even ISO 50 using a Custom Function). The fastest shutter speed is 1/8000 of a second, with flash synchronization at 1/250 of a second. A shutter time lag of just 55ms, together with ultra-fast and precise 45-point autofocus will help photographers to capture decisive moments. The EOS-1Ds will appeal to professional photographers who are attracted by the convenience and flexibility of digital photography, but need images of the highest quality. It is particularly well suited to advertising and fashion photographers, and others who see their work used in glossy publications. It will also undoubtedly appeal to photographers in all specialties who have been waiting for a high resolution, full frame, digital SLR.
