and creative photography can be. It has exceptionally fast auto-focusing, a wide AF area and advanced focusing-point-linked 35-zone evaluative metering. With its compact design, lightweight and ergonomic styling, the EOS 3000V can easily be used one-handed. Controls are positioned exactly where they should be. Menu navigation is easy thanks to a large LCD. The camera has AF point linked 35-zone metering so that it accurately works out the right exposure. The wide AF area with 7 auto-focus points perfectly captures your subject even when it is off center (set automatically or manually). The Auto-focusing is exceptionally fast and creates sharp pictures even when the subject is moving. On top of the EOS 3000V is a built-in E-TTL flash unit, which can pop-up automatically. The high positioned flash delivers improved red-eye reduction and is linked to the focusing points. 12 shooting modes are available, with AF mode set automatically to match the shooting mode. Continuous shooting is possible at approximately 1.5 frames per second. The camera s film transport mechanism is comfortable and quiet.
public. Its design is wonderful, the autofocus is the most precise and the fastest in its category. Wireless E-TTL flash system, 35-zone light metering, expert modes.
Advantages: Good Value for money Disadvantages: Bit light and Plasticky
It may be a bit early to write a review since I've just got the 3000v but non the less they say first impressions count so here goes. My first reaction was the to the lightness of the body I've been a Cannon user for a number of years now and this has to be the lightest yet but underneath the lighfweight body lies somehi tech features. I have used anumber of Cannon's I own an old A1 and fell in love with the Eos 600 when I used it, fully featured ... ...mindnumbingly fast in fact I swear it focuses quicker that I can. I considered the slightly more expensive Nikon F55 but was convinced that the multi point autofocusing would be a good feature. At this stage the jurys still out but I think it will be a usefull tool when photographing the kids on family outing or sports days. For the novice there are a good choice of program features from sports through to landscape and porttrait and plenty of manual ...

Advantages: Lots of controls for amateur to pro! Disadvantages: Its film not digital!
I used to own the Canon EOS 3000V. Infact it was my first SLR. A great camera for a beginner to start with. Easy to use functions and certainly knocks out some great images. I learnt everything I know about photography with this camera. Costs alot of money if you\'re anything like me and enjoy taking hundreds of photographs. You will find that the quality and control you have with this camera you will happily snap away. This is certainly a great ... ...you start and you can even ease yourself into the other controls such as controls which let you set the shutter speed and it then automatically sets your aperture for you and vice versa. The battery life on the camera is amazing. You forget that its battery powered after a while. You find you don't replace batteries for months. Even with constant use. It has a LCD Screen on the back to show you the focus spots, the shutter speed and aperture settings ...

Advantages: value for money, compact, stylish, features Disadvantages: none, absolute fan
Being an old Canon user from the A1 to the EOS 500N i finally got hold of an EOS 3000 V. Very similar in appearance to the EOS 500N, but with so much more to offer. It is very easy to use after you have read the manual, but keep the manual handy anyway, this camera has got all the features you will ever want and more. Battery life seems to be good, i have taken more than 50 spools with half of them using the flash and still going strong. This camera ...

Travels with my 400D
I’ve been putting off writing this review for months and months. I’ve been waiting until I know just about as much about the camera as I possibly can, but I’ve come to the conclusion that this will never happen, more
At last, a miracle in SLR technology. The Canon EOS focuses back to the 'old school' photographers world and can help even an amateur into a new dimension of imagery.

I owned a 20D before this and so my view is relative to that camera. The 5D feels very much like the 20D and 30D in that it is pretty much the same size and operationally very similar except for not having any kind of built-in flash.
