(+) Fold out LCD screen, Image Stabilization, Zuiko lens quality, Picture quality, Flash options (-) Noise in low light, Too many buttons, Badly laid out, Too many gimmicks
Advantages: Good Value for money Disadvantages: Bit light and Plasticky

With the 3000v the autofocus is mindnumbingly fast in fact I swear it focuses quicker that I can. I considered the slightly more expensive Nikon F55 but was convinced that the multi point autofocusing would be a good feature. At this stage the jurys still out but I think it will be a usefull tool when photographing the kids on family outing or sports days. For the novice there are a good choice of program features from sports through to landscape and porttrait and plenty of manual settings to play with for those more interested in learning a bit about photography. Im not a great fan of on camera flash but with addition of an anti red eye feature this could be invaluable when your seperate flash gun is unavailiable.
To round up the Cannon 3000v is excellent value for money, a full featured 35mm SLR for under £150 and of course you are getting top quality that many of the digital cameras at twice that price are struggling to get. Cannon has again won my vote. Of course I'll know better once I've put the 3000v though its paces but it looks like a good un.
Advantages: Lots of controls for amateur to pro! Disadvantages: Its film not digital!
I used to own the Canon EOS 3000V. Infact it was my first SLR. A great camera for a beginner to start with. Easy to use functions and certainly knocks out some great images. I learnt everything I know about photography with this camera. Costs alot of money if you\'re anything like me and enjoy taking hundreds of photographs. You will find that the quality and control you have with this camera you will happily snap away. This is certainly a great ... ...you start and you can even ease yourself into the other controls such as controls which let you set the shutter speed and it then automatically sets your aperture for you and vice versa. The battery life on the camera is amazing. You forget that its battery powered after a while. You find you don't replace batteries for months. Even with constant use. It has a LCD Screen on the back to show you the focus spots, the shutter speed and aperture settings ...

Advantages: value for money, compact, stylish, features Disadvantages: none, absolute fan
Being an old Canon user from the A1 to the EOS 500N i finally got hold of an EOS 3000 V. Very similar in appearance to the EOS 500N, but with so much more to offer. It is very easy to use after you have read the manual, but keep the manual handy anyway, this camera has got all the features you will ever want and more. Battery life seems to be good, i have taken more than 50 spools with half of them using the flash and still going strong. This camera ...
