I used to own the Canon EOS 3000V. Infact it was my first SLR. A great camera for a beginner to start with. Easy to use functions and certainly knocks out some great images. I learnt everything I know about photography with this camera. Costs alot of money if you\'re anything like me and enjoy taking hundreds of photographs.

You will find that the quality and control you have with this camera you will happily snap away. This is certainly a great SLR to start with as it has automatic controls when you start and you can even ease yourself into the other controls such as controls which let you set the shutter speed and it then automatically sets your aperture for you and vice versa.

The battery life on the camera is amazing. You forget that its battery powered after a while. You find you don't replace batteries for months. Even with constant use.

It has a LCD Screen on the back to show you the focus spots, the shutter speed and aperture settings and shows how many shots you have left on the film.

On the top of the camera it has settings like Program, which is probably the easiest setting to use for beginners as the sensor programs the settings when you click the shutter.

The other settings included Shutter Priority which lets you set the Shutter Speed and automatically set the aperture. The other setting is Aperture Priority and that lets you set the Aperture and automatically sets the shutter speed.

And then it has a manual setting for the more experienced user to set all settings.

Focus controls are on the lenses which you can usually pick Auto or Manual depending on the type of lens you have.

Not only that. But if you purchase other lenses with this camera, you can really start to explore other avenues with photography. Architecture - Wide Angle lenses, Wildlife - Zoom Lenses.
and much much more. You can even get close up with Macro Lenses and really explore your world up close and personal.

I would definitely suggest this to consumers who enjoy using film and want to start using an SLR, or just want some practice with an SLR and can\'t quite afford a DSLR.

Try it out!
