Before purchasing a camera, i had brought a magazine that would help me in getting an immediate insight of all the cameras and its title is "Which camera" and you could get it at any newsagent. Cost us £2.75 its worth buying before u make a purchase. its got all the features and which buy section. Later i got canon and nikon as the best 2 SLRs. I went to dixon, link, curry and atleast 10-15 shops in totenham court road. But the best i found was at Global camers at Harrow-on the hill. I purchased Canon eos 300 for £265 and the features of it are great.
It weighs less than other cameras. It has 7 focus points, 5 different modes(potrait, landscape, closeup etc.)Also manual featureslike aperture and focal settings.
For more details go to canon web site and u will get 3 page specifications. This eos 300 has won the best camera award for year 2000. Have a go and you wont regret ever.

1999 until 2002 as part of their EOS system. The EOS 300 used a pentamirror viewfinder instead of a pentaprism, and had a polycarbonate body. The autofocus capabilities of this camera were identical to Canon's much more expensive Elan 7 with six single-line CMOS sensors surrounding a central cross-type sensor. Good condition ,Body only. NB: This camera appears to be working, but has not been tested through to development and so is sold as spares and repairs only.
