Nowadays, you do not need to know photography to take good photos. If you own a Canon EOS 500 N SLR camera, she will do every for you. A good example is me myself, I know little about photography, but with this camera, I can produce good photos most of the time. This is because it has many built-in features such as, fully automatic, semi-automatic (where you can set either the appeture or the shutter speed, and let her set the other one for you), or fully manual. All in one!
The auto-focus features with 3 focusing points become very handy if you are a 'lazy' photographer, just point your camera to the subject, then, this clever thing will take care of the rest. Since it has 3 focusing points, you can frame the subject off the centre. Not a problem.

(+) Fold out LCD screen, Image Stabilization, Zuiko lens quality, Picture quality, Flash options (-) Noise in low light, Too many buttons, Badly laid out, Too many gimmicks
Advantages: Flexibility of 35mm SLR with APS facilities Disadvantages: Pricy if you are only interested in the APS aspect. Lenses slightly bulkier than the Nikon and Minolta SLR APS's.

Review of CanonEOS IX 7
Advantages: Fabulous picture quality, versatile, full set of exposure controls Disadvantages: Ouch, that price, but way cheaper than a real "pro" model.
