I went from a canon 400d and the differences were amazing. The first thing you notice is the superior build, it feels so much more tough and its more comfortable to hold as it is bigger. The screen is alot bigger and better quality although its very easily smudged. The wheel give you easy navigation but the real difference is the pictures. Its quality and reliability whislt working in low light conditions is outstanding. Noise isn't noticable until about 3200 iso but the pictures are still very much usable. After being worried about a conference I was taking pictures at because the room was poorly lit I was amazed when pictures were over exposed! I had to take down the iso. The hd filming is very high quality. The avalibility of using lenses brings the quality up to a proffessional standard. Altogether I've been very happy with my purchase and reccomend anyone saving up to wait that little bit long and buy a canon 5d mkII.
