Canon EOS 5DMk2 is it the...

I have had my 5DMk2 for around a year now and I still love this camera.
I would recomend this camera for those serious about image quality, proffessional photographers or very keen others.

Here are some specs-
21.1 megapixel (5,616 × 3,744 pixels). This is on a full frame sensor and does give wonderful results.

DIGIC 4 image processor.

100–6400 ISO (expandable to L (50), H1 (12800), H2 (25600)
I have shot at 2000 and gained great results with very very little loss of quality above this I would say the quality does start to drop but not as much as you might expect.

3.9 frames per second continuous shooting (78 JPEG or 13 Raw in a single burst)
To be honest this could be seen as a bit of a weakness, the frame rate while ok is not quite as quick as I would realy like on a camera of this cost.

Small Raw modes: sRAW1 mode (10 megapixel/3861 × 2574 pixels)
sRAW2 mode (5.2 megapixel/2784 × 1856 pixels)
I admit it is rare that I shoot anything other than Raw however, I have never used either of the lower quality Raw settings. Put in a 16gb or 32gb card. A 32gb card will give around 1100 full size Raw images (plenty).

98% viewfinder coverage with 0.71× magnification.
A clear and bright viewfinder, no problems here.

3.0-inch (76 mm) LCD display with 640 × 480 VGA resolution (307,200 pixels/921,600 dots).
This is a big improvement over the old 5D, but still not the brightest screen I have seen. I hate to say it being Canon to the core some of the new Nikons have better screens.

The 5DMk2 is capable of Movie recording full HD at 1920 × 1080.
I must admit I have been amazed by the quality of the HD. A word of warning as this camera has no in camera image stabilisation, you realy do need image stabilised lenses for this.

It is also important to note that this camera is only compatible with EF lenses and NOT EF-S types so upgrading can meen some extra expense.

The build quality and weatherproofing is excellent. I have been out in terrible weather in harsh environments and I have yet to have a problem.

So realy this is a great camera and I have allways been happy with my purchase.
Going full frame makes a huge difference and you could argue that compared to 1D's this is a good value choice.
Due to the frame rate I would not have this as a first choice for proffessional sports photography, however for pretty much everything else this is just a joy.
Get one and you will be happy!
