I've been a traditional film photographer for years and the EOS 30D was the first digital slr we purchased a few months ago. My husband and I are so happy with this camera and love that we can take it on vacation for candids, then turn around and utilize it more professionally for portraits. There is such a range of creative options that allows this camera to be very functional for a variety of situations from backyard bbq's to more professional photography. It's very user friendly. We have been extremely satisfied with this buy and definitely recommend this for people who desire a camera that can be functional in casual situations and for families as well as professionally.... The one down side for many is the 8 megapixels but I haven't had any problems with clarity for prints I have printed because the largest I print is 16x20 and they turn out beautiful!

Good review but to be even more useful I do think you need some more information. The cost of the camera, for example - maybe explain what SLR is for anyone not familiar with the term... if there are various settings (night mode, for example?) how good are they in the relevent conditions ? If you have a look at higher rated camera reviews you'll get a better idea of what to include :) If you make any changes, let me know through my guestbook and I'll re-rate accordingly! x
