The canon 60d is an efficient camera for anyone from the first time camera owner to the semi pros. i have a canon 5d and the light weight aspects of this camera makes my camera feel like a brick! however i am student photographer/ aspiring professional photographer and for my needs i don't think i would buy this camera. they say that this camera has brought the X0d out of the semi pros and into the pro category but didn't find any new features in it that my 5d didn't already do, not to mention the ones that my 5d did and it did not. From my point of view its a "gate way" camera for those aspiring to become a photographer or those family members that want to look more important when they're on family vacations. the price still makes you stop and think before buying it tho, if your looking for an slr camera with a lower tag i would recommended the rebel series.
