Canon HG10

My review is about the Canon HG10 camcorder I was bought it for my birthday as I have always wanted one but never got round to buying one I was pleasantly surprised when I was bought this especially as it is the Canon brand I have a lot of their electrical, gadget stuff already so know the brand well and it has always been reliable.

Obviously I was straight away working this out and using it, this really didn't take long being a man I will never read the instructions just mess around, risk breaking it un-till I get it to work. My wife however looked at the instruction book and now also knows how to use it. It this camcorder really couldn't be any simpler to use and the two videos I have taken with this camcorder so far are brilliant the quality is amazing it's just like television programme quality. It also has really good sound quality just as it was in real life.

It is lightweight and comes with a carry case so is easy to take anywhere with you so ideal for taking on holidays. The HG10 is also a digital camera 3.1MP photos are saved to Mini SD card.

It has the following features

*HD video straight to HDD (AVCHD)
This means that it has high definition video production for the best quality videos and also it has 15hours of video recording space so it's un-likely you will run out of space before you get to a computer to empty it and start again.

*Canon Full HD CMOS
The full HD CMOS created videos with advanced noise reduction technology and an RGB primary colour filter so your videos come out sharp, un-wanted noise-free and with vivid colours

*HD Video Lens with 10x optical zoom and Super Range OIS
This means it has super range optical image stabilizer, the HG10's 10x optical zoom lens is uniquely designed for HD so you get brilliant videos and even better when shown on HD televisions.*Instant AF
This helps make the focus of your videos really good and not blurry, it has 2 sensors one for speed and one for accuracy.
  • DIGIC DV II
This was specifically designed by Canon for HD, it shoots movies and still images at the same time. Video and photos are processed independently to insure maximum quality
    .
  • Navigation Control Dial
This means that it's easy to go through the menu and look back at the videos you have just taken to make sure they are right for you. You can quickly look at the videos movies on the 2.7" multi angle vivid LCD screen.

*Quick Start and long life battery
This camcorder starts instantly it's amazing! As soon as you press the button it is ready to be used. It also has a battery life of an hour un-till it will need charging again.*Full connectivity
It has an external microphone, all the connecters for connecting to your PC or television making editing and viewing you videos easy!!

*Software supplied
It comes with Corel Application Disc provides software for easy editing and management of AVCHD movies on a PC

I am still working out all its features and settings but am definitely getting there (without the instructions).
I guess the battery life isn't very long but I can't compare this to other camcorders as this is my first but would have expected it to last longer.

Also these are very expensive I am not allowed to know how much mine was but I have seen them advertised for £699 all though prices do vary from where ever you decide to purchase one from.

Hope this review is helpful I would recommend one its a brilliant device that I am going to and already do find really useful and fun.
