I have used my Canon Ixus for about 2 and a half years now (a very nice birthday present). It uses the newer APS film format which is much easier to load and handle than 35 mm, just drop cartridge in and close the door. You can select from 3 different picture formats (HDTV, Panorama and Standard). This camera has a very useful zoom lens and came with a nice quality leather case. It's small enough to go in a pocket without too much trouble. As you may expect from a Canon camera, the picture quality is excellent. The built in flash cope with most situations and is automatic, though it can be overidden. There are a number of features such as timers, multiple exposure, etc that some users may find are good. I tend to use it just for standard pictures. It can print the date on the front and/or the back of the prints too. It is a solid, well made camera.
