I brought this camera as a point and shoot as a lot of the time my digi SLR is just too bulky to carry around, and i often just dont bother. Having this camera to hand is great, i carry it nearly all the time, in a pocket, over the shoulder or in a rucksack, i cant believe i didnt try it sooner, the 10mega pixel is more than enough quality, pictures came out sharply and looking stunning, i have had them blown up to A3 and they are not at all pixelated, the wide angle lense is also a god send, great for landscape shots. It is a well finished camera and looks very smart and is very neat. It is also a robust camera, i have dropped it a few times, being the clumsy person i am, and even dropped it in a lake (dont ask) but i opened it out, put it in the airing cupboard and it survived. Im not reccomending that you drown them regually, but they are odviously well built to survive this...
the only possible down side, is that they only have a 4 x optical zoom, which is more than the standard 3 x but its rarely a problem

Love this product and cannot go on about it enough - have used it almost everyday. The build quality is superb and it really feels that it has been put together well. Battery life is great and you will get the whole day out of it easily, I always buy a spare just in case. Memory size is ok, so you will need to buy another memory card to go with it but that is just normal with these cameras. It also features a very simple autofocus function so you ... ...with a load of blurred photos at the end of the week when you come to review them! Would recommend getting the extras with it though - try and get a tripod and a carry case that you can put on your belt or round your neck - if you just put it in your handbag or whatever, you might not be able to get it out in time ti take those very quick shots as something unfolds. ...

This camera is in direct competition with the likes of the CanonIXUS870IS, the Panasonic Lumix FX37 and the impressive Nikon Coolpix S610, so it has got to be good and as those cameras all offer wide angle shooting and longer zooms, the Fuji is already on the back foot. At first glance I am really just looking at the F50FD (which had its problems) with a few upgraded features so what is going to make this the camera to buy over these others?
Sadly the answer to the last question is ?nothing?, this is a good camera in its own right and it will keep many an amateur snapper happy for a long time but it cannot compete with the other luxury compacts mentioned. The main reason for this is the lack of added zoom and the inability to shoot wide angle, these are both very handy features and they are sadly missed from this camera but there are...
