Camera Itself
First off, the camera. The sensor on this model has a larger pixel count than many of its rivals and cheaper models in the range. The 15.1 megapixels on offer is more than enough for the market it is aimed at, these images will easily be blown up above A3 and still retain most of the detail. The new addition to this camera that sets it apart from the older models is the Full 1080p movies. Many photographers don?t like this new mode but if you don?t, then simply don?t use it. the powershot is very easy to use, its nice to hold and your hand is positioned well for all types of use, the screen is clear and a non digital viewfinder makes it very nice to use although this is not as accurate as you would expect, it has a button on the front which seems a bit out of place but im pretty sure its supposed to evaluate white balance,
This camera hasn't been advertised as a very durable camera or a waterproof one, but a few light splashes of rain didn't do it any harm and it has held together after a few bumps, it does show paint scratches though, its case is a hard plastic and is quite seamless,
Canon have done a good job at designing this camera, it boasts as a camera that is compact enough for a pocket and also has the usability of a bridge camera, the small bump on the left gives you great grip and gives space for two AA ...

Canon along with Nikon have for years been known as the kings of camera`s but with things changing rapidly in the DSLR market Canon had to think fast. All of Canons recent releases have been at the expensive end of the market and they have been rapidly losing ground to the likes of Nikon and the new kids on the block (Sony). The release of the Canon EOS 1000D in June this year (2008)was an attempt to get back in the entry level market and whilst I think it should have the desired effect I am still not convinced they have done enough to tempt people away from the less expensive Sony option.
Many people myself included thought that the new Canon would just be a fresher version of the Canon EOS 400D and the only stand out feature available on this 1000D that the 400 did not offer was a live view, so were Canon trying to pull the wool ...

The FAX-L380S features Department ID security settings that allow administrators to monitor and track fax activity and prevent misuse. With a super G3 modem, and large memory and paper capacity, the FAX-L380S is ideal for busy companies that need an interdepartmental fax that can also print and copy. The FAX-L380S features Department ID functionality. This security feature allows the user to create up to 100 IDs and passwords, and means that the fax may only be operated after the correct password has been entered. By creating a number of department settings, users are also able to monitor fax, print and copy totals - which will assist office management and accounting. Setting department IDs can also restrict sending and copying operations. The FAX-L380S can store 250 pages. The FAX-L380S utilizes an all-in-one cartridge that yields approximately 3500 prints - even more when Toner Save mode is used. It allows storage of up to 31 one touch dials. The FAX-L380S saves 100 coded dials. The Super G3 modem in the FAX-L380S transmits at 3 seconds per page thereby reducing the cost of transmission and allowing receipt of a number of faxes simultaneously. The 510 page fax memory means that the printer will save and store documents if they are received when the fax has run out of paper or toner, and the office is unattended. Large faxes may also be scanned into the fax memory and sent at a later time. As well as transmitting at 3 seconds per page, the FAX-L380S scans A4 pages at 2 seconds per page, and prints received documents at 18 pages per minute. It also prints at this speed when being used as a laser printer - further saving the user valuable time. Prints are generated at 600 x 600 dpi, with UHQ (Ultra High Quality) image processing that delivers 256 gray scales.
