Advantages: Lovely design and seems rugged, nice images Disadvantages: Image stabilisation kicks into destroy the picture if vibration is slightly too harsh

OK if held in the hand, yet when it has any form of harsher vibration it makes pictures that are completely unusable.
With the IS turned off it is still the same...
sadly it is a lovely image if on a tripod or hand held, but the stabilisation ... ...issue as it is hard to watch straight away and even Production Premium does not enable it to be watched or edited.
I wanted the higher spec one with the inbuilt memory, but is it slower to download apparently, so for the price of a few extra memory cards far outweigh the slight disadvantages of a lack of inbuilt memory, but would be nice in an emergency, of course ... more

AVCHD recording is an issue as it is hard to watch straight away and even Production Premium does not enable it to be watched or edited.
