Canon 500D
Introduction
Canons range of cameras is very impressive. Everyone can be accommodated for, there really is something for everyone.
Camera Itself
First off, the camera. The sensor on this model has a larger pixel count than many of its rivals and cheaper models in the range. The 15.1 megapixels on offer is more than enough for the market it is aimed at, these images will easily be blown up above A3 and still retain most of the detail. The new addition to this camera that sets it apart from the older models is the Full 1080p movies. Many photographers don?t like this new mode but if you don?t, then simply don?t use it. Having the functionality of a high quality video camera on family holidays and such will be welcomed by the enthusiast market at which this is aimed toward. One problem I found ...

Advantages: Good print Quality Disadvantages: Cartridge prices
This review is for the Canon Pixma IP4700.
Setup
---------
This printer comes inside a box which is heavily packaged and first off all you get the power cable. The cable is wrapped with this tie back but the problem is that when you unwind the cable you notice how it wants to try and curl back up again so you do need to try and straighten it out as soon as you can.
You receive the disc which has the drivers on which you need to install on the computer otherwise you have no way of printing items off without it.
There is nothing else inside the box besides the cartridges which are easy to insert and use. The disc is good because it is so simple to install the items onto the computer and this takes about a minute to do.
You do not get a connection to the computer though so you do need to purchase one yourself and many websites ...
Advantages: Typically good Canon images. Disadvantages: Poor flash and feels a bit flimsy.
Canon along with Nikon have for years been known as the kings of camera`s but with things changing rapidly in the DSLR market Canon had to think fast. All of Canons recent releases have been at the expensive end of the market and they have been rapidly losing ground to the likes of Nikon and the new kids on the block (Sony). The release of the Canon EOS 1000D in June this year (2008)was an attempt to get back in the entry level market and whilst I think it should have the desired effect I am still not convinced they have done enough to tempt people away from the less expensive Sony option.
Many people myself included thought that the new Canon would just be a fresher version of the Canon EOS 400D and the only stand out feature available on this 1000D that the 400 did not offer was a live view, so were Canon trying to pull the wool ...

Manufacturer's product description
Benefit from brighter images, flexible features for flawless viewing, easy placement and advanced multimedia connectivity. All in a compact business projector, with whisper-quiet operation. An ultra high 2, 500 ANSI lumens and true XGA resolution gives superior viewing in all light conditions. Six image settings provide perfect picture adjustment for data and video projection. Switch to hi-contrast mode to make graphs and photographs look sharper. Cinema mode is ideal for watching films in a darkened room. While custom mode lets you fine-tune several factors, including adjusting images that are too light or too dark. Canon's Auto Image mode is especially useful for video and DVD projection in darkened rooms. When black areas on a screen are a shade too light, the projector automatically adjusts lamp brightness to bring out a pure black effect. When a projector is placed at an angle to the screen it can cause image distortion. The LV-7215 features both horizontal and vertical Keystone Correction to overcome this problem, providing distortion-free images. Conventional projectors use interlaced scanning to produce a single frame, often resulting in wavy lines on the screen. Canon's new Progressive Scanning reduces flickering when connected to an interlaced signal. This results in smoother movement, clear diagonal lines and super-sharp titles. You can easily connect the projector to virtually any multimedia equipment. A DVI-D interface gives a direct digital connection to compatible PCs and DVD players, for a clearer picture. A high quality component video connection supports VCR, DVD and High Definition TV projection. An optional SCART connector accepts a wide range of devices, including digital camcorders and game consoles. When projecting in small rooms, the LV-7215 can be set up very close to the screen - and still produce a large, clear image. The new projection lens also offers a 1.6x manual zoom, by far the largest in its class. This ensures easy placement as you can obtain the ideal image size from a remarkably wide range of distances. Silent mode (only 35dB) keeps operating noise down to a strict minimum. Other advantages include customized logo placement at the start of each session and an optional Multi-Card Imager for network connectivity.
