I bought this printer a few months ago to replace an old hp all in one which had lasted for a long time and sadly the print quality had diminished. With a large amount of options on the market I shopped around and came across the Canon MP620. It seemed to have all the features I was after including scanning, printing, card reader, photocopyer and wireless networking. Please note there are 2 other similar models in the range and as far as I know the MP610 is older and not wireless but slightly cheaper. Alternatively the MP630, which is more expensive is also not wireless but is faster in producing more prints per minute.
So far, since using it I can report that the MP620 is an excellent all round printer. Great quality prints and excellent scanning makes it perfect for my needs. The wireless networking took a little time to setup and you may struggle if you don't know your way around your firewalls. However, you may be lucky and have a techy friend who can help. This printer, which costs around £100 is definitely the best in it's price range in comparison to it's competitors by Epson and HP. I find the 5 ink cartridge system is good for keeping to a budget and replacements are reasonably priced around £7 or £8 each. I recently watched the Gadget Show on Channel 5 who voted the MP630 the best printer based on price/quality so the MP6* range is an excellent choice.
The only downsides are the slightly tricky wireless setup, and the size of the printer is pretty bulky. Finally, the 'fit to page' option in the printer preferences doesn't seem to work but is usually solved by changing settings in the software and using print preview to check output rather than the printer settings.
