The only problem i have with this Mini DV camcorder is that when recording in a quiet atmosphere (i.e. Indoors) a buzzing can be ... ...the tape mechanism. This buzzing noise does not occur if you use an external microphone which is pefectly possible due to the good incorporation of a mic-in port. Other than this slight problem, i have not found any other cons. I find this camcorder very easy to use but with all the settings and features to allow for great movie quality in either widescreen or 4:3 at the simple touch of a button.

The only problem i have with this Mini DV camcorder is that when recording in a quiet atmosphere (i.e. Indoors) a buzzing can be heard on the recorded material due to the noise from the tape mechanism. This buzzing noise does not occur if you use an external microphone which is pefectly possible due to the good incorporation of a mic-in port. Other than this slight problem, i have not found any other cons. I find this camcorder very easy to use but with all the settings and features to allow for great movie quality in either widescreen or 4:3 at the simple touch of a button.
The menu system on this camcorder is also very simple and can all be controlled by the use of the joystick making it very easy to alter setting, or for an even simpler life you can just use the 'Easy-mode' auto-settings which detect the lighting conditions quite well although not perfectly and also helps to stabalise the image adequately.
The ports on the side of the camcorder include; A/V, Firewire, mic-in. This means that viewing the video on a pc or tv is very easy and i have had no problems doing this yet.
So, to conclude, i think that this camcorder is excellent value for money and the features incorporated are very useful and the only fault is that of a slight buzz which is eliminated with the use of an external mic.
