Advantages: Small, Easy to move around! Disadvantages: Slow printer if you print a lot!
...The CanonPixma was the first printer I ever bought. I used it to print my school projects and mainly my report papers. It works great but not as fast as laser printers. Sometimes after you're done printing you have to wait a couple of seconds for the ink to dry out.
The printer uses a standard canon ink cartridge, it's very small so you have to constantly change it every so often if you are always using it.
I highly recommend a Laser printer if you need to print many documents and a laser printer is well suited in a fast-paced, working environment.
But if you're just a student like I am you can use the PixmaIP1500,
It does the job well.
ALSO the CanonPixma is also good for printing coloured photos, and envelopes, ETC.
The CanonPixma also comes with a printing software and photo editor. However you may have to purchase ADOBE...

Advantages: Built in fax Disadvantages: Expensive to buy, expensive ink replacements, Very bulky
...If you do alot of faxing and then this could be a handy product. Unfortunately I dont. I bought this model to upgrade from my Pixma MP180. In reality, the only main difference between the 2 was the faxing. Print quality is very good, speed of print is good and scan quality is good. Unfortunatly I had to send mine back as I couldnt justify paying over £140 for a printer/scanner that was only marginally better than the lower priced Pixma MP180 (£45). So if you do alot of faxing then knock your socks off and splash out on this model. But if you dont mind waiting that extra 3.78 seconds for a picture to print off then I would say you should save your money as there are cheaper models out there that do the same things. Cannon products seem rather reliable however you also need to consider the cost of replacing the ink cartridges. All new...

Advantages: Easy to use: Good software package included: Separate Ink Cartridges. Disadvantages: A bit larger than most printers
...I bought my Pixma MP750 approximately 9 months ago, and have never been other than delighted with it. It is very easy to use, and the supplied software is excellent, e.g. CD Print (allows you tp print directly onto Printable CD's), Canon Easy Photo-Print (allows you to easily print photos on to all different sizes and types of paper) Canon Easy-WebPrint (allows you to easily print any web page, automatically formatting the wider pages to fit on to A4 paper), MP Navigator (allows for easy scanning of all types of photos/document, the latter with OCR). All in all, an excellent package which I am happy to recommend to any prospective purchaser, provided that is they can still be sourced. It is also worth noting that updated Drivers etc. are available from www.canon.co.uk...

The only reason I bought this printer was that I had broken my previous one and therefore needed a replacement. By broken I mean I had dropped the power transformer onto the laminate floor as I had rather stupidly been carrying it by the cables, and the... more

I bought this printer to replace the PIXMA ip1600 which I had before, prompted by the £20 cashback offer Canon was running at the time. This allowed me to purchase a multifunction machine for cheaper than replacing the cartridges on the ip1600!... more
When it comes to buying technology, I know absolutely nothing, so I tend to take advice. The usual advice is: buy the best you can afford. In this case the cost was only an issue in the value-for-money sense, not in the there-is-a-top-limit sense. ... more
