I bought this printer two years ago in Dixon and still keep the receipt. However, things keep changing; I can't see Dixon on the high street any more. Now they become Curry Digitals. I spent GBP 49.99 on this printer including a pair of black and color cartridges and one free pack of photo paper (5 pieces of 4" * 6" quality photo paper). Like most current computer accessories, it uses USB as connection to the PC. According to the production feature, the printer is USB 1.1 compatible. However, the USB cable is not included in the purchase. You have to buy it separately. But before you buy, you can check whether you have other USB devices at home which have same connection type. If so, you can save your money then. Actually, I just use my old one.
*****Outlook******* I like its clean outlook: black and grey. It's about 41.6 cm x 20.7 cm x 16.5 cm and weight 2.9kg, which mean it easy to move and doesn't take too much room.
*****Main Features****** It's inkjet printer. I use this printer mainly for documents printing including color charts. The average speed for printing black white text and chart is about 15ppm, for color is about 12ppm. I used a lot last year when I was still study in the university and I found the ink runs out really fast. The ink tanks for this printer are very small; luckily they are easy and cheap to be purchased from eBay.
The printer is designed as photo printer as well. It can print 4" * 6" borderless photo. As there are free photo paper coming with the printer when purchase, I tried two photo prints. The speed and quality are good.
When you work until very late and may try to print out all reports from the whole, one thing you may notice that this printer brings a small piece of music. However, it won't bother you all the times.
*****Installation******* If you want to use this printer, you do not have to worry about installation. It's very easy. It has an installation CD for printer driving and some software for easy printing photos. Just follow the instruction, you can do everything.
*****Compatibility******* It works for both Windows and Mac.
I have been using this printer for two years and I generally think it's still ok for home printing. However, there are many more new printers including all-in-one on the market, I wouldn't think this will still be your choice when you want to buy a new printer. Anyway, thanks for your reading and rating.
