This a multifunction printer that is addressed to those who need not only to print black & white documents but also color documents and photos. As I am using it for more than a year I have a quite solid image about it. This is the only printer in my household so the average papers we print per month would range from 500 to 1000 black & white photos and no more than 10 photos.
It's speed is good for a 100quid printer when printing at standard quality but printing at high quality it's annoying due to the low speed. The little screen on top of it increases it's functionality as you can easily change setting, perform maintenance or print something from a memory card. Oh, I haven't mentioned it has a memory card reader for most cards which is very useful in the case you want to print anything from a memory card without turning on the computer. Another function that is unique in this class of price is Infrared which helps you to print pictures directly from your mobile phone. Just amazing!
The integrated scanner does good quality pictures being useful when you less expect this. I highly recommend you to buy a multifunction printer instead of a simple one as the price difference is really small for it's functionality.
In my case printing so many pages a month supposes that I would have to change the ink cartridge every single month. This would cost me a fortune :) Instead, I am recharging them using ink and a syringe. Compared to my old Canon iP 1000 the process is more complicated and I get my hand dirty each time.
As a conclusion I would like to underline that this printer is perfect if you intend to print at least 20-30 photos a month. Otherwise, the price difference is not justified. Nevertheless it is a strong, good-looking, good quality printer.
