...My new CanonPIXMA IP1800 replaces my CanonPIXMA IP1600 so the planet may be doomed and It could be my fault.
My CanonPIXMA IP1600 had nothing wrong with it. It wasn't broken. The pictures spilled out on glossy paper at A4 ready for framing. The text was crisp and black. I'd had it for a year or so. It was cheap yet efficient and as good as any printer I'd ever owned. It had no tray to catch paper coming out but otherwise was printing perfectly and I've been delighted with it. This is partly why I bought the CanonPIXMA IP1800 which is also excellent. But why bother? They're almost the same machine!
The ink is running out on my old printer and, bizarrely, new cartridges would cost more than a brand new one. My wife was furious.
She looked at the packets of ink cartridges with a shop assistant because she didn't believe me...

Just think for a second and ask yourself a question. How would it be to have a scanner, printer and photocopy machine in one device? I had like this about year ago and it is not comfortable. You occupy only USB ports, have more cables behind and less room for anything on a desk. Cannon came across with Pixma mp460. This quite medium sizes device is brilliant and quality breath taking. Printed a number of pictures with it on an Ilford glossy photo paper and could not believe that they look so great. Printed previously some pictures from Snappy Snaps and there was absolutely no difference.
First what I can truly tell is that all information's I give you come from my experience only. I own this device so my review is going to be as close to reality as only possible. I have got it 9 months already. Let's start.

I have bought this printer about a month ago for £94.99 at PC World. I was out and about researching a printer that can replace my Canon 250i and my Epson Scanner which did not want to work together with my new Windows Vista PC. I had set myself a... more
The only reason I bought this printer was that I had broken my previous one and therefore needed a replacement. By broken I mean I had dropped the power transformer onto the laminate floor as I had rather stupidly been carrying it by the cables, and the... more
I bought this printer to replace the PIXMA ip1600 which I had before, prompted by the £20 cashback offer Canon was running at the time. This allowed me to purchase a multifunction machine for cheaper than replacing the cartridges on the ip1600!... more
I have had my new Canon Pixma MP520 about 3 weeks now and have used most of the facilities on it so feel able to do some kind of review of it. I did a lot of research before buying this printer and so far it has lived up to the expectations that I have... more
