I use Canon digital cameras and decided to go with a Canon printer, both on recommendation and because you often seem to get the best results by using the same brand for a whole process.
Anyway, I had a look at some prints from a Pro9000 and was completely blown away by the quality of them. I bought one and am very glad that I did.
The printer body is quite large as it can print up to A3 size which is a bit of a pain if you want ... ...you print high resolution prints. Canon consumables are horribly expensive but you can get some good deals on ebay etc. The quality of your prints will be very affected by the grade of paper that you choose. I have found that Canon Paper Pro gives the best results and the next grade down (super glossy) is good for the sizes that Paper Pro does not come in. Canon ink cartridges, and I would suggest sticking with Canon, because they do a fabulous job are £8.99 each, so changing all 8 is not cheap.

This printer produces bright, lifelike prints, but can be slow.
