Canon PIXMA iP4850

In my opinion a printer has the same importance as the computer itself, because in our times of digital photography, pictures are often stored on our hard disks, but they disappear from time to time. For everybody, who wants to print his high-quality photos at home, without visiting a local super market or photo shop, the Canon PIXMA iP4850 is a great choice.

Design & Material:

The design is modern, modest and the brilliant black colour fits perfectly in the office or living room, which is also important for a printer. It is made out of plastic, which seems quite valuable and I didn't recognize any mistakes regarding to the workmanship.

Installation:

To install the software on the driver CD, you need a computer, and the following installation steps are self-explanatory, just follow the instructions. After the installation you can easily select the Canon PIXMA iP4850 as the regular printer, which is the last step.

Printing Quality:

• In General:
  Printing a picture takes about 20 seconds and a text page up to 8 seconds, which is quite fast for such a high-quality printer. Only two-sided printings takes a little longer, because the device has to prepared itself before. The consumption of ink is at a average level at this price and quality range (about 300 pages per ink cartridge)
• Black/White:
  The printing quality is outstanding, you can clearly see everything, even the little details like words or facial features. There is no really noticeable difference between the modes e.g. "Normal" or "High-Quality", so you can save your ink slightly.
• Colour:
  Brilliant colours and precise contours are features of the colour-print for both normal and glossy paper

Result:

The Canon PIXMA iP4850 is a simple printer for everybody, who wants to print pictures or documents, because of its quality and velocity. At this price level it's a worthwhile purchase except for the ink cartridge prices.
