I previously had a canon printer which was very basic, and after many years of good service, it finally came to the end of its life. I researched the web and online stores and came across this Canon MP140 in the Argos catalogue.
The price was fantastic at only £29.99, and was a copier, scanner and printer in 1. It also came with black and colour ink cartridge. I found the reviews on argos very encouraging and decided to purchase for myself.
It was a bit bigger than I expected, but was easy to set up. The usb cable is not supplied, this is clearly marked in the product description and in the instructions, but I had one from my previous printer. I followed the instructions, set everything up, plugged it all in, installed the software and clipped in the cartridges. It took about 15 mins for everything to be up and running.
The printer does take a while to warm up, and can be a bit noisy when warming up and printing, and quite noisy when scanning, but it has a quiet function for nighttime etc.
The speed of printing basic text pages is good, printing photos and pictures takes a bit longer, but cannot complain. the scanner is easy to use, simply open lid, insert item to be scanned, and press scan....the scan program opens up on screen and hey presto, you are ready to go!
The ink cartridges average about £12 to £15 - but have quite a good lifespan and can be refilled, which saves money.
For the price I am thrilled with my purchase, have always had a good experience with Canon and hope to get many good years from my new purchase.
I would definately recommend it - a good 3 in 1 budget printer.
