I have always been a fan of Canon digital cameras. Before i use Canon for personal digital camera, i had used Sony for several years until my friend introduced me to Canon IXUS which takes amazing pictures. And since that, i have never gone back to Sony.
As we all know Canon digital cameras capture great pictures and very easy to use. When I first found Canon Powershot A480 [the red one] on the internet, i found it very cheap among the other digital cameras. I quickly read the features, of course, im not a professional photographer myself, so I just read that it basic features such as: 1. it is a 10.0-megapixel digital camera 2. it has 3.3x optical zoom and capable to print large size images beautifully 3. DIGIC III Image processor [certifies you take sharp images] 4.15 shooting modes with 12 special scene modes 5.High-quality 2.5-inch LCD 6.Use regular 2 AA-size batteries, so you don't have to worry that you haven't charged it when you take it anywhere 7.It has many colors! Red, Blue, Silver, Black,
Took a few minutes before I bought the A480 and 2 weeks later my beautiful red Canon Powershot A480 was delivered to my home. First thing I saw when I opened the box is it is small and beautiful, I also happy that it is very light, 140gr without the batteries. So i began to use it and i was pretty satisfied with the captured pictures. It was very easy to learn, i don't even read the instruction! The modes are easy and it doesn't take blurry pictures. You get beautiful pictures even when you are moving and capturing.The built in flash are also useful. It has Auto flash, Red-eye Reduction flash, Auto Red-eye Correction flash, Flash On, Flash Off; FE lock, Slow Synchro flash.
But, of course, there are some insufficiencies like the battery power is very very low. I have tried different battery brands, but I ensure you the best one is Alkaline. The advantage is the batteries are everywhere, you can buy it on supermarket near by when the battery power dies. I also hate the lens error thing. Canon Powershot A480 has a very poor lens, just took about one month before the lens made weird cracking sound. I was very afraid that the life of this camera would lasted only for one month. Fortunately, it still can be used. I asked my friend and he said I should take it to the service center. But, until today I haven't brought it to the service center because I think it's not really a big deal. The noises are awful though, you'll get people looking at you and your camera which they think is very old. But they don't know the pictures inside my red A480 are super! Despite the cracking-noises, A480 is very strong little guy. After several times hit the ground, it doesn't decrease the quality of the images and the LCD is well fortified.
Pretty much A480 is worth the price I have paid and takes better pictures than i have in mind. So i recommend it to people who want to get cheap, small, and superb digital camera with high quality, buy Canon Powershot A480!
