The camera is a silver colour and has a thicker end on the right ... ...camera it isn’t small enough to fit in your pocket, but comes with a small leather camera case.
It takes two AA batteries for the flash and these will take about 140 shots
It also comes with a 16mb memory card and is a 7.1 mega pixel which is quite good for taking clear pictures.

The camera is a silver colour and has a thicker end on the right for easy grip. Although it is a light weight camera it isn’t small enough to fit in your pocket, but comes with a small leather camera case. It takes two AA batteries for the flash and these will take about 140 shots It also comes with a 16mb memory card and is a 7.1 mega pixel which is quite good for taking clear pictures.
The pictures it takes are clear and sharp, the colours look natural and the inside pictures taken with the flash are good too. If your taking pictures of people then the quality is very good, skin colour is natural and the pictures of outside shots of landscapes or animals are very good and clear with sharp colours. The zoom is good at close ranges. It also has a viewfinder which is helpful for those of us that are not to good at taking pictures. When I use an ordinary camera I always seem to manage to get the picture blurred or chop peoples heads off in the shot. With this camera it Is basically point and click for a great looking picture. Although it does take a little time for the flash to go off and the next flash to be ready for taking the next picture, but for me that’s not such a worry as the end result of a good picture is good. You can also choose what size pictures to have there’s a widescreen option and you can also decide how much compression to use (normal/fine/superfine).
The flash modes available are Auto, Manual Flash On / Off. Red eye reduction and slow sync speed can be turned on and off. The maximum range of the flash is 3.5m. This falls to around 2.2m when the zoom lens is in use.
It features different picture modes, like most other digital cameras. These are Portrait, Landscape, Night Snapshot, Indoor, Kids & Pets, Foliage, Snow, Beach, Fireworks and Night Scene. When you select a scene the camera will use preset controls to try and take the best possible shot. You can even record short movies for up to an hour with sound and zoom to which is fun for recording the grandchildren and watching them on playback on the television.
I like this camera as ithas a good picture quality although it takes a little while to get used to as theres lots of features and modes to get your head around, especially for someone like me who has never owned a digital camera before and I’m sure that its capable of doing more things than I know but by reading the manual and using the camera often I’m sure I’ll pick up the relevant knowledge to use the camera to it’s best ability. I’m just happy to be able to take good clear pictures that I can load on to my computer or save on the memory card as well as taking little movies of the grandchildren.

This is one of Canon's budget range of digital cameras, one of the better ones, 7.1 mega pixels and 4x optical zoom all for around £150-£200 depending where you go. The photo quality is good for the price, it is a basic outfit, there arent many extra functions and its far from top of the range, but it is a nice family camera and definatley does the job.
It is a really good size, chunky enough that you can always find it and it is easy to hold steady, ... ...coat pocket; it wouldn't fit in your jeans. The lcd display on the small side, but I think it does the job, any bigger and they tend to use a lot of battery and it does have the added bonus of a view finder which is always useful in dim light. The only problems I have found with the general 'construction' of the camera are firstly that if you hold the button down to take a photograph in slightly the wrong way it can activate the zoom and secondly, ...

Canon powershot A550 is one of the best things I have ever had till now. One day I bought it and I have been fall in love with it till now. It is simple, easy to use, and reliable(actually, I bring it on my pocket all the time). It produce high quality image, and can be printed out easily (one of its features). Mode can be changed into analog or digital (in taking pictures, some people like to use one). And I think its price acceptable for the features ... ...you want to connect your Canon PowerShot A550 with the cable, you can do it with the 'jack' covered by rubber top in the left side of the canon (when LCD is facing to you). Open it from bottom to up side gently.
Just remind you of the battery use, do not forget to recharge it or bring a spare, you do not want to lost a moment to capture. ^^ ...

Easy-to-use and easy-to-hold, the PowerShot A550 gives you 7.1 Megapixels, a 4x optical zoom lens, an ISO 800 feature for expanded low-light shooting and a DIGIC II Image Processor with iSAPS technology for beautiful pictures and great performance. Plus, there's even a Fast Frame Rate Movie Mode. Power is never a problem, because the A550 uses standard "AA" batteries.
