...I bought CanonPowerShotA70 from US a year ago. Now I am in UK and one day suddenly found my Canon LCD is just showing some horizontal lines instead of any picture output. I was sooo disappointed with this. Tried a lot to fix it but nothing happened. ...The CanonPowerShot G5 is a great camera, very versitile with grreat looks as well. I have had this camera now for 1 month and had used it almost non stop due to the quality of picture. This camera has far more functions and modes than many other cameras in its price range. I would recomend that if you buy the CanonPowerShot G5 then you also buy a large memory card for it as you will realise that you quickly run out of space at the 5 mega pixel setting, especially people like me that cant stop taking pictures. I would suggest you buy this camera before its to late and they stop being made, believe me you will not regret buying this camera....

...MID RANGE CAMERA, THAT HAS GOOD FEATURES FOR A FAIR PRICE. WHEN PURCHASED PARTS FROM THE BOX MISSING WHEN OPENED, AND TOOK CANON UK 3 MONTHS TO SHIP THE PARTS, AFTER CLAIMING THAT THE PART ( A BATERY COVER DID NOT EXIST).
CONTROLS SIMPLE TO USE, THOUGH BATTERY COVER AND CF COVER NOT WELL BUILT AND WILL FAIL WITH REGUALR USE.
GOOD DESIGN THAT HAS NOT DATED, THOUGH NOT TO THE STANDARD OF THE IXUS OR OLYMPUS MJU, WHICH ARE DATELESS.
OVERALL, A GOOD CAMERA THAT HAS TAKEN SOME GREAT SHOTS BUT HAS NOW BROKEN AFTER LESS THAN 1,000 SHOTS. THE BACKUP SERVICE OFFERED BY CANON FARCICAL AND AFTER HAVING SEVERAL CANON PRODUCTS WOULD NOT BUY AGAIN, THIS COMPARES DRAMITICALLY WITH OLYMPUS WHO HAVE PROVIDED SUPERB SERVICE....
