When I bought this camera - I found that this is a conpensation of weight and size for quality and stability.
This is upgrade for me since A530, so the differense for me was too huge so I might go a little over the top here.
Being a shaker when holding a camera, the weight of this bugger really helps out.
The movable LCD is really a nice touch that not even all most recent cameras have, since it is a really neat tool when you must take a quick ... ...for you
Having 4 batteries - means that you really going to have to try hard to run out of energy. I takes me a full 4 gigs of pictures of highest resolution and quality to run out.
it is aimed towards novices as well as casual photographers, with it's manual settings.
