I bought Canon Power Shot A70 from US a year ago. Now I am in UK and one day suddenly found my Canon LCD is just showing some horizontal lines instead of any picture output. I was sooo disappointed with this. Tried a lot to fix it but nothing happened. I was then just surfing the web for any instruction to fix this problem when I found an Announcement in Canon USA and also Canon UK site that these A series and many other Canon product [Other Canon Product List: Digital IXUS II, Power Shot A300, Power Shot A70, MV600, MV650i, MV700i, MV5i, MV6iMC, Digital IXUS 400, Power Shot A40, Power Shot A95, Digital IXUS IIs, Power Shot A310, Power Shot A75, MV600i, MV690, MV730i, MV5iMC, Digital IXUS330, Digital IXUSV2, Power Shot A80, Power Shot S60,Digital IXUS V3, Power Shot A60, MV590, MV630i, MV700, MV750i, MV5, Digital IUS430, Digital IXUS 500, Power Shot A85, Power Shot S1 IS] got some manufacturer defect and the company is giving a free repairing for this. Unfortunately you have to send the product to their service center if it is not within walking distance(!!!) and pay the postal cost [should be well packed means big parcel, Oh!!! Costly again!! Also its better to have insurance in case its lost!!] Again bad. On the other hand the USA Canon is paying the postal cost as well as free repairing for USA customer. So just think and get well information if want to buy any of these products.
