...camera's I looked at the Canon PowerShot A10 came out on top. It had the best features for an acceptable price (around £200 with an extra 1gb memory card and a case)

...My family have owned a Canon camera for many years and the reliability of them impressed me. I however needed a camera that could take photos of great quality and in many situations. With many settings that would please an experianced photographer, the Canon Powershot A710 IS is also a great camera that is great for beginners.
It's compact size is no compromise for quality or performance. I have found that I have been able to have the camera tucked ... ...Regarding battery life, I was at first hesitant that a 7 mega pixel camera with 6x Optical Zoom would eat up two AA bateries in less than a day, but I have found that with Lithium AA bateries I have been able to last nearly two weeks on two batteries.
After returning from Kenya and having my photos developed, I was amazed with the photo quality. They were great and my memories of that year will never be lost and I owe this to the Powershot A710 ...
