If you're bored of automatic setting on compact digital cameras, but can't quite afford a consumer SLR, then this is definitely the camera for you.
Packed to the brim with so many features, that I'm not sure after owning this camera for a month now I have fully discovered everything this camera can do. From the 0 cm marco mode, which is correct to the 12x optical zoom, the Powershot S3 performs amazingly at both these extremes.
The S3 also provides a great movie making feature which goes above and beyond that expected of a compact.. Stereo sound recording and a frame rate of up to 60 f.p.s. it is absolutley fantastic.
Without doubt the best camera I have ever owned, I think it will be sticking around with me for a long time.

Advantages: Stylish, high zoom, quality images, easy to use, lightweight, etc Disadvantages: Difficult to manually focus on a subject, not sure if it is entirely waterproof
