Canon PowerShot S2 IS

Back in July, my old Minolta Dimage 7i gave up the ghost after only 2 years of service, I was quoted £200 as an initial repair cost which could of increased. I took the decision to purchase a new camera and use the £200 towards this purchase.

After researching the current options available to me I was left with 2 choices the Sony W17 or the Canon S2 IS. Although the Sony had more pixels (7.2 against 5.0), and came with a free case I chose the Canon. T

The Canon S2 SI is a good looking camera with many features, as mentioned before 5 million pixels that is high quality compared with some other brands, 12x optical zoom, 1.8 lcd screen that can be swivelled, 18 different shoot modes. You can also shoot excellent high quality movies. You can take images in colour, black & white, of sepia, you can also choose the size of image, handy when you want a series of small images, means you only need to take one memory card with you.

I have paired up my camera with a Dell Inspirion 6000 laptop, and can simply take my pictures, remove the SD card from the camera and put it straight into the SD slot on the laptop and download my pictures.

This camera is very easy to use, and produces very high quality digital images - excellent for a mum on the go like myself. Ready to use when you need to capture the moment. The only downside that I have experienced is the lens cap that does not want to stay on - come on Canon improve on this, your cameras are not cheap, and this lets this model down !!!
