After a lot of research I opted to buy this camera as I prefer the size and feel of an SLR but couldn't justify the extra expense to buy a digital SLR.
The clarity of photographs is excellent and the camera is fairly easy to use. It is very easy to use in 'auto' mode which I generally leave it set up in just incase I need to capture 'the moment'. However, it can do so much more and allows the photography to make creative choices.
My one complaint would be that I feel I have to discover many of its features by chance as the manual that comes with it is in a miniature format which makes it difficult to read. Also some of the symbols used on the camera could be clearer and are difficult to see in low light.
I would rate this camera as 8/10 - it loses a point for the above and a further point as I have been disappointed on occasions with photos taken in 'live music' situations where stage lighting has not proved sufficient. Perhaps I have not yet discovered the correct set up to use but I have had better results with a Kodak set on auto!
Welcome to Ciao. This isn't bad for a first review, but I feel it could do with more detail. Read around the site a bit to see what gets rated highly. If you edit this, leave a note in my guestbook and I'll re-rate. Jess
