This camera is excellent. At 10 Mega Pixels it takes a mean picture. It is jam packed with features and it is really quite easy to use once you get used to various camera settings that are available to you. It is very compact, battery life is fair but keep some spare, the screen is fully poseable and the clarity is second to none.
It is an excellent travel camera which can be used anywhere because it can use both normal and rechargeable AA batteries and standard SD cards. The folding LCD screen is especially useful when shooting macro or tele photos and the (expensive!) telephoto adapter is optically super. The screen should be covered with polythene protecting film because it is vulnerable. Compared to the Ixus range the colours are rather (too?)soft. It is something in between the standard digital camera and a reflex camera. Because of the 4 batteries it is rather heavy (356 g) and tele preferably should be shot from a tripod. It is definitely not an amateur camera one should buy to start with. I would call it a "hybrid" camera.
Advantages: Great picture quality, great battery life, ease of use Disadvantages: Not much. Use rechargables for best battery life

I bought it after checking out a few reviews myself and after owning and using it I thought I would write my own review.
Previously I was using a Pentax Optio S4i which was a great camera but after using this I couldn't go back.
At 10 megapixels the picture quality is awesome. So much so that I now can't bring myself to use the lower quality settings. I found with other cameras that when you take a "full size" picture, ... ...some detail is lost as if it is being "squashed" but the prints I get from this are so clear. It really is hard to tell that they are digital and not traditional prints.
It has such a wide range of functions it almost makes it hard to justify spending any extra on an slr.
The control you have over it in manual settings is fantastic, enabling you to adapt to any situation. It even takes superb pictures through glass. (The aquarium shots and reptile ...

I do indeed like this camera. My father bought one after his previous one broke, and not only has he been using it a lot since, so have I.
The picture quality it produces is brilliant, 10 megapixels. in fact, probably the highest quality you will be able to get for a while.
It has a 4x optical and 4x digital zoom which is AWESOME. It means you can zoom in from miles away and still get a good picture. This helps a lot with landscapes and stuff.
... ...very chunky, so it can easily fit in a hand, it's not too heavy either, but not too lightweight so you won't lose it.
It uses SD cards (I believe it stands for Secure Digital or something like that), and they hold a lot of photo information in a tiny little card, they're quite cheap but easy to lose; a simple solution just being only have one very big one and always keep it in the actual camera.
