The difference between this printer and a photocopy machins is that it can print documents straight from your pc/laptop.You'd probably go "Doh!". Okay, I'm not an art student and my work and assignments does not need to have HIGH resolution of coloured graphics to be printed and most of the things I print are basically texts anyway.

As for students like m who are really low budgeted and extremely NOT fussy, as long as the assignment can get to be printed out on papers are FINE.

This printer does not have an On/Off button, which is why it depends on the power cord and your PC/Laptop. It's pretty light in weight and only needs a driver cd, one USB cable and the power chord.

Next cookie for this printer is that I got it extremely cheap and it's new when I bought it in a PC fair which is around ₤20.

I am used to printing alot to show my diagrams and rough work from my computer on papers and I am very attached to this printer as it prints fast enough to get my drafts out nicely. It's not that the resolutions are high and it's very clear. But clear enough and it looks good if you're to print black and white texts on good quality papers.

Canon ink cartridges are now universally sold by other cartridge manufacturers who make compatible cartridges for its printers where you can get it for very very cheap prices. The quality of course, is not fantastic but good enough.

On the physical look of the printer, it is pretty dull and outdated but it's size is small and compact which makes it takes up VERY little space.

This printer is very durable although it is going outdated. As long as the manufacturers of cartridges still produce compatible cartridges, it's very useful for rough works. Although the printer is used for rough printing most of the time, it is very durable and does not breakdown easily, which makes it very reliable.

On usage wise, you just need to plug the printer to the power, joined it to your pc/laptop with the USB cable, install the driver which is all wizard driven, and you can start using it already. It's very easy to use and it automatic detects your pc/laptop when to On or Off.

Overall the printer is very suitable for simple printing jobs which needs fast printing but does not requires high quality of pictures printing.

again borderline - as I want to know normal price and availability - you may have got it new for £20 at a computer fair - but not all of us have access to computer fairs (which at best offer a mixed bag - and sometimes lack accountability and redress if anything goes wrong). jes ≈≈≈≈{; -)-{{::::: |||||<
